The Wimag RZE 16 is a pipe pulling device for connecting reinforced concrete pipes. The excavator lifts the device into the pipe with a chain, after which it moves on its wheels from pipe to pipe. At the push of a button, the RZE clamps itself hydraulically in the pipe and pulls in the next pipe, with a pulling force of up to 16 tonnes and a stroke of 500 mm.
The hydraulic drive runs on a built-in 12 V, 180 Ah battery, so there are no trailing power cables. You operate the device with a pendant control on a 10 metre cable, or optionally with a wireless remote control. Large clamping surfaces spread the pressure evenly, so the socket is not damaged.
The RZE 16 is made for sewer contractors laying large concrete pipes who want to connect them precisely without slings or manual pushing. Because it runs on battery, it is also ideal in narrow trenches and in places without a power supply.
