Straightening and cutting machine 14 mm – GT8 – straightness within ±1 mm

The GT8 straightening and cutting machine from TJK Serecon is built for heavy wire: cold-rolled steel up to Ø14 mm and hot-rolled steel up to Ø13 mm. It straightens with a tolerance of up to ±1 mm and cuts bars from 1.5 to 12 metres.

What is the GT8 straightening and cutting machine?

The GT8 is the heaviest straightening and cutting machine in TJK Serecon’s GT range. It processes cold-rolled steel from Ø8 to Ø14 mm and hot-rolled steel from Ø8 to Ø13 mm, smooth or ribbed, straight from the coil.

At the heart of the GT range is the rotor straightening system. A high-speed rotating cylinder with adjustable guides bends the wire alternately and centrifugally, removing the curvature efficiently and precisely. On the GT8 this results in a straightening tolerance of up to ±1 mm and a length tolerance of up to ±2 mm per metre. A vertical cutting unit with servomotor and a mechanical stop with automatic positioning cut the bars at lengths from 1500 to 12000 mm.

For lighter wire there are the GT3 and the GT5.

Who is the GT8 for?

The GT8 is intended for rebar plants, wire processors and producers of mesh, cages and precast elements that need straight bars cut to length from coiled wire. Working from the coil means less storage of loose bars and less cutting waste, because every bar is cut to the exact length. The straightened bars then go to the bending machine, the mesh welding line or straight to site. A straightening and cutting machine is often the first link in efficient rebar processing.

Technical specifications of the GT8

The GT8 reaches a maximum pulling speed of 130 m/min. The cutting length ranges from 1500 to 12000 mm, with a length tolerance of ≤ ±2 mm per metre and a straightening tolerance of ≤ ±1 mm. The length is set manually. All values are in the Technical specifications table on this page.

What do these specifications mean?

The wire diameter indicates which material the machine can straighten; cold-rolled and hot-rolled steel behave differently, which is why the range sometimes differs. The cutting length determines the shortest and longest bar you can make. The length tolerance states how much a bar may deviate from the set length per metre, the straightening tolerance how straight the bar is after straightening. The smaller these values, the more accurately bars fit into mesh, cages or precast elements.

Benefits of the GT8 straightening and cutting machine

The GT8 is built for heavy wire and tight tolerances:

  • Wire up to Ø14 mm: cold-rolled, and up to Ø13 mm hot-rolled.
  • High accuracy: straightening tolerance within ±1 mm.
  • Long bars: cutting lengths from 1500 to 12000 mm.
  • Mechanical stop with automatic positioning.
  • Automatic alignment system: bars are aligned automatically.

How much does the GT8 straightening and cutting machine cost?

We do not publish prices online. Every request is handled personally, because the configuration, options and delivery of the GT8 straightening and cutting machine differ from project to project. This way you receive a quotation that truly fits your production.

What determines the price?

The price of the GT8 straightening and cutting machine depends among other things on the chosen version, the options and software, transport to your site and lead time. How the machine fits into your existing production also plays a role. That is why we assess every request individually and prepare a quotation that fits your production and planning.
