What is the TRT 100 rough terrain crane?

The Terex TRT 100 is a rough terrain crane with a lifting capacity of 100 tonnes at a 2.5 metre working radius. It is a crane with one cab for driving and lifting, four-wheel drive and a hydraulic telescopic boom, made to drive across unpaved sites and lift there on its own.

The boom extends to 47.0 metres, with a tip height of 49.5 metres. With the optional 9/17 metre jib, you reach up to 66.0 metres. The operator controls the crane via a 10-inch colour display and electro-proportional joysticks, and chooses between 4 steering modes, including crab steering. The TRT 100 is the heaviest crane in the range, with 100 tonnes of lifting capacity on a carrier only 3 metres wide.

Who is the TRT 100 for?

Terex rough terrain cranes are made for construction sites, industrial areas, ports, mining and energy projects, and for rental companies. With one cab for driving and lifting, four-wheel drive and four-wheel steering, they drive across unpaved sites and remain manoeuvrable in tight spaces. Because the operator drives to the next lifting position, no separate truck or set-up crew is needed to move the crane around the site.

Technical specifications of the TRT 100

The key data of the TRT 100, according to the Terex brochure:

  • Maximum lifting capacity: 100 t at 2.5 m
  • Telescopic boom: 47.0 m
  • Main boom tip height: 49.5 m
  • Optional jib: 9/17 m, tip height up to 66.0 m
  • Boom: 3 telescoping modes
  • Transport width: 3 m
  • Engine: Cummins QSB6.7 Stage V
  • Steering modes: 4, including crab steering
  • Controls: 10-inch colour display

What do these specifications mean?

The maximum lifting capacity applies at short radius with the outriggers fully extended. The further the boom extends, the lower the load, according to the load chart. Maximum boom length and hook height tell you how high you can work; with a jib you go even higher. Four-wheel and crab steering make the crane manoeuvrable on site. Check the transport width and weight as well: they determine whether the crane can travel by road on a standard low loader.

Benefits of the TRT 100 rough terrain crane

The TRT 100 combines lifting power with mobility on any terrain:

  • Manoeuvrable: 4 steering modes, including crab.
  • High reach: up to 66.0 m with jib.
  • Clear controls: 10-inch display and adjustable joysticks.
