What is the SBH S780 rolling strut box?

The SBH S780 is a rolling strut box: a trench box with the advantages of slide rail shoring. The plates are supported by rolling struts, which have long proven themselves in slide rail shoring. The clearance under the rolling struts is infinitely adjustable, so you match it to the pipes and the site. With spacer bars you reach the working width you need.

During installation and removal, you slide each component individually, and plates and rolling struts move parallel to each other. This requires far less force than a classic box. For longer pipes, you set the rolling struts at staggered heights, so you can pitch the pipes in.

Who is the S780 for?

The S780 is mainly used for sewer and pipe laying where high clearances and deep trenches are needed. It suits contractors with mobile or crawler excavators of 18 to 30 tonnes who want the simplicity of a box but need more free space under the struts.

Technical specifications of the S780

The key data of the S780, according to SBH:

  • Maximum installation depth: up to 6.00 m
  • Trench width: 1.36 to 6.38 m
  • Working width: 1.00 to 6.00 m
  • Clearance under the rolling strut (hc): 1.93 to 2.78 m, infinitely adjustable
  • Plate thickness: 86 or 107 mm
  • Excavator: mobile or crawler excavator of 18 to 30 t

What do these specifications mean?

The installation depth is the maximum trench depth the system protects safely. The working width is the clear space between the plates, the trench width the total width from outside to outside. The clearance under the strut or spindle (hc) determines how large the pipes are that you can slide underneath. The recommended excavator tells you which machine can install and pull the system.

Benefits of the S780 rolling strut box

The S780 at a glance:

  • High clearance: infinitely adjustable up to 2.78 m.
  • Less force needed: each component slides individually.
  • Long pipes: rolling struts at staggered heights.
  • Box and slide rail in one: simplicity with the benefits of rolling struts.
  • Deep: trenches up to 6 m.

How much does a rolling strut box cost?

We do not publish prices online. Every request is handled personally, because the configuration, options and delivery differ from project to project. This way you receive a quotation that truly fits your work, for purchase or for rental.

What determines the price?

The price of a S780 depends on the plate length and height, the struts or spindles and extension pieces, any top elements and transport to the site. For rental, the duration of your project also plays a role. We put the system together based on your trench depth and width.
